Nic Preston
Nic is the founding lawyer of Preston Legal and is a dual qualified lawyer in both Ontario, Canada, as well as cross Provincially in South Africa. His entire career on both sides of the world has been devoted to advocating for employers and litigating various workplace disputes. As local Canadian counsel today and previously as Partner at one of Southern Africa’s largest law firms, Nic’s career has involved advising and litigating a vast array of complex and profiled matters, from government bodies to sporting associations, international and local employers and importantly, small to medium enterprises too.
Nic’s formative years were spent on his feet in courtrooms and tribunals, with a number of his earliest matters ending up in the press. Nic remains a litigator at heart and has developed a strong presence advocating for employers and businesses in various sectors and industries

Vidish Parikh
He works with employers and business owners to navigate workplace challenges, manage legal risk, and resolve disputes. He enjoys helping clients address difficult workplace issues and develop practical solutions that support their broader organizational objectives. Vidish understands that workplace challenges often require more than legal analysis alone—they require an appreciation of business realities, organizational dynamics, and the people involved.
Known for his thoughtful and detail-oriented approach, Vidish enjoys working through complex problems and helping clients find practical paths forward. He is committed to providing advice that is clear, responsive, and aligned with each client’s goals.
Prior to joining Preston Legal, Vidish gained experience representing and advising clients in a variety of litigation, tribunal, and regulatory matters. Early in his career, he was involved in contested hearings, motions, trials, administrative proceedings, and negotiated resolutions. Those experiences continue to shape his strategic and pragmatic approach to advocacy and problem-solving.
Vidish earned his B.C.L./J.D. from McGill University’s Faculty of Law and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. During law school, he represented McGill at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot, worked with the McGill Business Law Clinic, and completed a judicial clerkship with the Constitutional Court of South Africa. The opportunity to work alongside judges and legal professionals at one of the world’s leading apex courts remains one of the most formative experiences of his legal career. The experience provided a unique perspective on legal reasoning, decision-making, and the role of law in addressing complex societal challenges.
His background in law and economics has shaped an interest in how legal decisions affect organizations, workplaces, and the people within them. Having worked with employers, business owners, and regulatory organizations throughout his career, Vidish appreciates that effective legal solutions must be both legally sound and practically workable.
Outside of practice, Vidish enjoys mentoring law students, following developments in labour and employment law, and spending time with family and friends.
