A bespoke labour and employment law practice, servicing the legal needs of employers across Ontario.
At Preston Legal, we are a boutique law firm dedicated to representing corporate clients and business owners across Ontario, in all things employment and labour law related. Our ethos is one of humility, integrity and impeccable professionalism, focussed on fostering client relationships that are authentic and real, naturally evolving into long term partnerships.
We are different… and will be slow to tell you how much we care, rather choosing to show you.
Each client matter passionately becomes our own - whether early on in the advisory phase, or during the final throws of litigation. The flexibility and freedom that your business needs to reshape, reform and grow organically, is what we have dedicated our entire existence to.
We do employment and labour law and we do it well – clean & simple.
Nic is the founding lawyer of Preston Legal and is a dual qualified lawyer in both Ontario, Canada, as well as cross Provincially in South Africa. His entire career on both sides of the world has been devoted to advocating for employers and litigating various workplace disputes. As local Canadian counsel today and previously as Partner at one of Southern Africa's largest law firms, Nic’s career has involved advising and litigating a vast array of complex and profiled matters, from government bodies to sporting associations, international and local employers and importantly, small to medium enterprises too.
Nic’s formative years were spent on his feet in courtrooms and tribunals, with a number of his earliest matters ending up in the press. Nic remains a litigator at heart and has developed a strong presence advocating for employers in various sectors and industries.
Nic is also a frequent writer and speaker across various Human Resources Professional Groups, as well as related Industry Associations, offering practical considerations that are proactive, while identifying gaps that go well beyond the usual circulars that do the rounds.
Nic also remains passionately affiliated with the Labour Law body in South Africa (SASLAW), which offers pro bono representation, guidance and advice to some of South Africa's most vulnerable and poorest of workers, who would not otherwise have access to justice. Throughout his career, Nic has also appeared in several print and media news, as well as television and radio interviews.
